Childhood friends Loren Joseph Herzog and Wesley Howard Shermantine, Jr. become the Speed Freak Killers, claiming lives from 1984 through 1999. Four to nineteen victims are known or attributed to their methamphetamine-fueled carnage, but their practice of hunting down humans for sport leaves them suspect in the deaths and disappearances of as many as seventy-two others in and around California's San Joaquin County area.
